10-10-07 Chefs, cities help launch anti-bottled water campaign. Top restaurateurs and cities
nationwide joined activists Wednesday who started a new campaign to convince consumers to
choose tap water over bottles. The idea is to show consumers the benefits of tap water over
that in bottles, which activists say cost too much in time, production and environmental clutter.
Activists also argue that many bottled water manufacturers actually are just bottling tap water.

10-10-07 Wyoming cities are battling over state funding. The Cheyenne city council voted to
postpone paying its dues of more then $43,000 for 60 days to the Wyoming Association of
Municipalities. Cheyenne Mayor Jack Spiker says it's a protest against the funding formula
for cities that WAM plans to present to the Wyoming Legislature. 64 of 99 Wyoming cities
would lose money under the proposed formula. Cheyenne will lose more than $560,000,
Laramie with $1.7M, and Torrington will lose more then $737,000 in state funding next year
to help operate local services.
