By Dan Dockstade, Star Valley Independent. Expressing his concern that oil and gas
development could affect important wildlife habitat in the Saratoga Valley and impact the
area’s water quality and recreational value, Gov. Dave Freudenthal has asked the U.S.
Bureau of Land Management to withhold leases from the upcoming sale. The Governor’s
Office sent a letter to the BLM last week asking that the leases not be approved
in the Baggot Rocks areas near Saratoga.
